LG to launch CRT TV with built-in HD tuner

By Matthew Henry

SYDNEY: LG Electronics has launched Australia’s first cathode ray tube (CRT) television with an integrated high definition tuner, continuing the brand’s propensity for launching industry-first high definition-integrated TV products.

The new 76cm widescreen 32FS4D (RRP $1,599) supports 1080i pictures and is part of the Super Slim CRT range, which feature reduced cabinet depth over conventional CRT TVs.

With a built-in high definition tuner, the 32FS4D will tune into high definition and standard definition digital TV without the need for a set top box.

LG Electronics has previously claimed first-to-market honours with other high definition integrated TVs including the first built-in HDTV and first HD integrated LCD TV last year.

“LG is constantly developing and adding to its comprehensive range of integrated high definition televisions,” said LG category manager – AV, Darren Goble.

“This is clearly our area of expertise being the first manufacturer to provide consumers with another advanced option within the CRT series.

“With LG’s advanced technology and emphasis on innovative design features, the new Super Slim CRT creates the ultimate TV experience, without compromising on style and aesthetics.”

The 32FS4D features the XD Engine image processor, progressive scan picture, HDMI input and Tru Surround XT stereo sound with 10 watts per channel.
