Sampford IXL and Qld agent Somerville Industries part ways

By Martin Vedris

MELBOURNE: Sampford IXL and its Qld agent, Somerville Industries, have discontinued their relationship with both parties aiming to wind up their dealings with each other by the end of the financial year.

In a letter to the trade, Sampford IXL’s national sales manager, Robert Warner, stated that the decision to end the relationship was mutually beneficial with both parties pursuing other opportunities.

“It is with great regret that Sampford IXL has accepted the decision of Somerville Industries to cease operating as our agent for whitegoods in Queensland,” Warner stated.

“After a long and successful relationship Somerville Industries have been presented with a new opportunity in the property development market that they wish to pursue. All dealings between the two parties will be wound up by the end of the financial year to allow Somerville Industries to focus on this exciting new venture. However, Somerville Industries will assist Sampford IXL in a smooth transition over the coming months.”

Warner went on to state that the decision opened the way for Sampford IXL to manage its Qld distribution directly.

“Although we are very sad to accept this decision, Sampford IXL wishes Somerville Industries every success in their future endeavors. Sampford IXL is also very excited about the opportunity to create and manage our own operation in the state. This decision allows us the opportunity to align our sales structure with the rest of the country and we will be actively recruiting to build a fresh new team who want to grow with our business going forward.”

Warner also expressed his gratitude to the Somerville Industries team for its work in developing the business.

“We would like to thank Annabel, Tony and their team for their years of support of our Gaggenau, Neff, Jenn-Air, Bertazzoni and La Germania brands,” Warner stated.
