'Let's get behind the new Retravision Australia' says Sydney store owner

The newly organised national buying group, Retravision Australia, has received a massive boost, with David Hunt, proprietor of one of the last remaining Sydney CBD stores, signing on to continue with the famous but beleaguered co-operative.

After the collapse of Retravision Southern in May this year, the sharks had been circling the members that had been cut loose, with many joining rivals such as Betta Electrical, Harvey Norman or Bi-Rite Electrical. Hunt told Current.com.au that his Rozelle Retravision, a famous store in the heart of ‘Tiger Town’, had rebuffed these overtures and will continue trading with a Retravision shingle.

“We know Retravision has had some challenging times recently but we look very much forward to continuing our relationship with Retravision,” Hunt said. “We have every confidence in the leadership of Paul Holt in Perth, who is heading the new Retravision Australia.”

In addition to voicing his personal support of CEO Paul Holt, Hunt also called on other Retravision members to get behind the new business, which has changed its business model from group buying to individual store accounts.

“There has been a lot of news of stores leaving and rumours of this and that, whilst a number of other stores are undecided. It is our hope that other stores will solve their uncertainty quickly, by offering their support to Retravision, so we can all get on with what we do the best, offering and selling electrical appliances, to the benefit of all our customers right around Australia.

“It’s not all gloom and doom. There are a huge number of Retravision stores which have joined the new Retravision Australia, with respected business people who have proven their value over the years — not only in Sydney, but in the southern states, Queensland and our new fellow sister stores in Western Australia.”
