Mitsubishi Electric Australia’s national sales manager, Peter Taylor, is set to leave the company this week after nearly 14 years working with the air conditioning manufacturer, and more than 40 years in the industry.

Taylor began his career straight out of school at Electricity Meters and Allied Industries Limited – also known as Email – which originally manufactured electricity and water meters, and owned the Simpson, Chef and Westinghouse brands before it was bought out by Electrolux.

Taylor spoke to Current.com.au about his departure, saying he felt it was time to shift focus and that he was “leaving to do other things”.

“I’ve been Mitsubishi Electric for 14 years – 1 month shy of 14 years,” he said. “I want to spend time with my wife and pay more attention to those other things. It’s funny when you get to my age, that others become more important.

“I’m leaving quietly – I’m saddling my horse and riding off into the sunset!”
