TEAC has joined Sony, Samsung and LG in appointing DHL Supply Chain as its recycling partner under the National Television and Computer Recycling Scheme. Under the terms of this legislation, all importers of TVs and computer hardware into Australia must align with one of the approved recyclers.

“DHL is pleased to have signed new customer TEAC Australia to our Approved Arrangement,” said DHL CEO South Pacific Terry Ryan. “As we embark on this new partnership, DHL will ensure that the needs of TEAC and their consumers are met and that we maintain our commitments as TEAC’s service provider of choice.

“Our solution will be seamless to the community and our designated collection locations will accept any television, regardless of its age or brand.”

DHL was the first approved provider under this scheme to commence recycling, which it did in Canberra, in the Australian Capital Territory, in mid-May 2012.

Here’s TEAC Australia CEO James Phoon.

“As a new DHL Supply Chain customer, TEAC Australia looks forward to the opportunities this partnership will bring,” he said. “Our commitment to DHL’s scheme will enable TEAC to comply with the Product Stewardship Regulations, and assure Australians that their unwanted televisions will be disposed of in an environmentally sound manner.”
