UnderCurrent is no stranger to the concept of celebrity endorsements.
LG has recruited celebrity chef Matt Moran to spruik its cooking products, Nespresso trots out George Clooney (AKA the Silver Fox) at every possible opportunity, and Justin Bieber has successfully managed to parlay his boyish good looks and teen-dream-clout into the lucrative world of headphone endorsements.
But the one thing that characterises these ambassadorships is that the celebrity is usually well-aligned to the brand.
So imagine our surprise when we saw this life-sized cutout of well-known rap artist and raconteur Snoop Dogg in a Queensland surf shop on the weekend.
It turns out that the Neff name is also used for a clothing company that styles itself as a "snow/skate/surf headwear" brand. So while Snoop isn't actually the new brand ambassador for a high-end cooking brand, it certainly makes a strange sight for those in the appliance industry. But maybe Snoop would work well as an appliances spokesperson?
We can just imagine the advertisements now:
"Why did you turn up the booster function on your cooktop, Snoop Dogg?"
"For sizzle."
'Nuff said.

Sipping on gin and juice and enjoying a perfectly cooked meal - Snoop Dogg would make an unlikely brand ambassador.
