Catalogue aggregator Lasoo, part of the Salmat company, in conjunction with retailer Target and toy supplier Hasbro, has today donated $20,000 worth of electronics, games and toys to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead.

Lasoo currently works with electronics retailers including 2nds World, Appliances Online, Big W, Betta, David Jones and Dick Smith to provide online and smartphone catalogue information.

“The Children’s Hospital at Westmead has a long tradition of providing excellent care and we hope that this contribution can assist the wonderful work of their staff by providing the children with a bit of fun and entertainment,” said Lasoo MD Dom Finnegan in a statement.

“On behalf of all involved we are delighted to be able to support their valuable work.”

The donation, which is described by Finnegan as “a bounty”, includes iPads, DVDs, CDs, cameras, iTunes vouchers, games and construction kits.

“We are so thrilled to be receiving such an amazing donation and thank Lasoo, Target and Hasbro for making this possible,” said Child Life Therapy manager Sandra Pengilly.

“Child Life Therapy is integral to the care of our patients and their families. It helps create positive hospital experiences and these new resources will better enable us to assist anxious and stressed children develop coping ideas and strategies.”

And here’s Target regional manager Allan Molloy:

“Target is all about kids and families and our community partnerships focus on supporting children,” he said.  We are, therefore, thrilled to be in a position to donate toys and products to help entertain those children at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, who are spending a lot of time away from home.

“We admire the amazing work done by the team at Westmead and we are delighted we can support them in this way.”
