Woolworths has issued a recall of its Home Collection & Abode 2000W Oscillating Fan Heater, due to the risk of the product overheating, emitting smoke and catching fire.

The Fan Heater (model number NFE20O) was released under the Home Collection brand (REF Number: 317034; APN: 9 300633 144128; Batch Numbers:100110, 091215, 100330) and the Abode brand (Keycode: 7088872; APN: 9 339346 063464; Batch Numbers: 100105, 100206).

The product was sold nationally between 1 February 2010 and 28 February 2011, with Home Collection-branded models sold at Woolworths Supermarkets and Abode-branded models sold at Big W.

According to the ACCC recall notice, “affected units could cause smoke, fumes and fire” and “incorrect internal crimping may result in the wiring and crimp connector overheating, causing a fire hazard”.

Consumers are advised to cease using the product immediately and return it to any Woolworths supermarket or Big W store for a full refund.
