While Sony Computer Entertainment announced Australian pricing for its new hand-held gaming device last October, the new PlayStation Vita has taken some months to arrive on our shores. However, after much waiting (and discussions over price) the device is finally set to be revealed in Sydney tonight.
Billed by Sony as a “pocket-ready” device that “reinvents gaming on the go,” the PS Vita features a 5-inch OLED display with multi-touch screen capability, as well as a “dual-stick inspired design” that alludes to PlayStation's console controller.
The Vita also features rear touchpads for gaming control, as well as front and rear cameras. In addition, Sony is talking up the Augmented Reality (AR) technology that “makes blending your physical world with the PlayStation world on your screen seamless,” as well as Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity to allow gaming with other users.
