Sony Australia GM of sales to depart after 26 years of service

Sony Australia has confirmed that David Hargreaves, a 26-year veteran of the company, has resigned. Hargreaves’ final day will be 2 March 2012.

In a statement delivered to Current.com.au, Sony Australia managing director Carl Rose thanked Hargreaves for his two-and-a-half decades of service.

“After 26 years of dedicated service, David Hargreaves our general manager of consumer field sales, has made the difficult decision to leave Sony Australia,” Rose said.

“I’d like to acknowledge David’s passion for both the consumer electronics industry and for Australian retail — he has approached our business with dedication, enthusiasm and commitment. 

“As a result of David’s decision, Sony will be reviewing the structure of the sales team, taking into consideration the changing nature of the Australian retail landscape.”
