Whitegoods manufacturer Haier has gleefully announced that it is the world’s number one choice for refrigerators and freezers, according to new sales data rankings from business analysts Euromonitor International.

In the Euromonitor annual Global Major Appliances Brands rankings, which uses data from trade sources and national statistics gathered over the past year, Haier was named “the number one global major appliances brand in the world by...with a 7.8% retail volume share in 2011”.

Speaking about the accolade was Haier brand manager, Yvonne Hong.

“This is the third year in a row we topped the international ranking which is a pretty cool achievement,” said Hong.

“Taking out the award for the third year in a row is a big nod to the fact that our products really do tick all the boxes; and with the best after-sales service in the market, we want people thinking of a new fridge, or dryer, even a new wine chiller, to know that Haier makes it possible without maxing out the credit card.

“Haier products are all about just giving people what they want. We offer all the gizmos and gadgets that people have come to expect, but without the price tag. We want to make our products as affordable as possible so people can buy a new fridge and still have enough money left over to stock it.”

With products sold in more than 165 countries across Europe, Asia, Africa and America, Haier had the sales figures to push it to the top position for the manufacture of both refrigerators and freezers.

Haier was declared “number one manufacturer of Refrigeration Appliances in the world with 16.5 per cent retail volume share [and] number one Freezer manufacturer in the world with 16.8 per cent retail volume share in 2011”.

It also took out top gongs as the number one brand for freezers and refrigeration appliances, as well as both the number one brand and manufacturer for electrical wine coolers/chillers in 2011.

Doesn't say much about the quality of our Aussie salespeople or consumers when a brand like this gets sales figures like this. On comparison, what percentage of faulty product does this brand get? My bet would be far more than most others.
