Following news in December that Ricoh had appointed CR Kennedy as its new distributor for digital cameras, CR Kennedy has announced the appointment of Stewart Pickersgill to the newly-created position of national Ricoh product manager.
Prior to his appointment, Pickersgill was the general manager, camera sales division at Tasco Sales Australia – the company that previously held distribution rights to Ricoh digital cameras in Australia. Following its acquisition of Pentax in 2011, Ricoh sought to align distribution across its brand base and appointed Pentax’s existing distributor, CR Kennedy, for Ricoh digital cameras in Australia.
Clem Kennedy from CR Kennedy spoke about the company’s partnership with Ricoh, and about the appointment of Pickersgill.
“Ricoh is one of the imaging industry’s most innovative brands with a range of compact and interchangeable cameras that are renowned for delivering superior image quality and award-winning photo-centric design,” said Kennedy.
“We are very pleased to represent Ricoh in the Australian marketplace and are confident we can build on the brand’s previous successes both through our own expertise and industry relationships and through the appointment of Stewart Pickersgill. Stewart’s experience and passion for Ricoh is unmatched and he will be a valuable addition to the team at CR Kennedy.”

Pickersgill was similarly chuffed with the appointment, having held previous positions with Ricoh. He previously worked as National Sales Manager – Photographics at the company, and has had various sales roles with Ricoh since 1989.
“In 23 years with Ricoh cameras in Australia I have seen much change to the industry and, of course, been through many changes with Ricoh,” said Pickersgill. “But never have I been more excited about the future of Ricoh in the Australian market than I am now with CR Kennedy's commitment and marketing philosophy to camera distribution.
“The new Pentax-Ricoh association has also created much excitement about upcoming product road maps and I am looking forward to seeing and working with the future developments of both brands.”
Stewart Pickersgill will take on the new role of national Ricoh product manager at CR Kennedy.
