After much anticipation, JB Hi-Fi’s music streaming service, JB NOW, is finally here. Now.
JB’s service joins the ranks of Samsung Music Hub, Microsoft Zune and Sony Qriocity Music Unlimited, as well as Pioneer’s Pure Lounge internet radio streaming service and BlackBerry’s BBM Music.
Subscriptions for the service are available in three different bundles: 3 months for $25 ($8.33 per month), 6 months for $50 (also $8.33 per month) and 12 months for $80 ($6.67 per month). From today, consumers will also be able to sign up for a free one-month subscription to sample the service.

In Discover mode, users have the option of choosing between a variety of genres – with everything from Honky Tonk country to Acid House electronic getting a nod – and there are also options to create playlists or ‘mixes’.
In Crowd mode, users are able to “connect with a crowd of like-minded lovers” by specifying the age, gender and location of desired matches. Each person’s account features a list of favourite and recently-played tracks, as well as their own mixes.
