Breville has launched a promotion to drive sales of its planetary mixer range this Christmas, with the announcement that both BEM800 and BEM410 Scraper Mixer benchtop mixers will come bundled with a bonus Freeze & Mix frozen dessert maker valued at RRP $99.95.

The Freeze & Mix bowl is an attachment that can be used with Breville’s Scraper Mixer to covert the appliance into a sorbet, ice cream and frozen dessert maker. The promotion for the accessory will run until the end of January 2012 – while stocks last – and will be supported by a national television advertising campaign.

“Our planetary mixers are an integral part of the Christmas TV advertising campaign,” said Breville business category manager – food preparation, Chris Travis.

“The Breville Scraper Mixer is a unique product being the first mixer to include a BPA-free scraper beater as standard. With mixers available in a variety of colours and the added value of a bonus Freeze & Mix, the package makes a generous gift concept”.

In other Breville news, the company has announced that it has seen a 61 per cent rise in the food processor market over the last year, due in part to a television campaign raising awareness of the new hero product in its range – the Kitchen Wizz Pro.

According to GfK data on sales value for the year ended November 2011, Breville is leading the food processor category with three models in the top five. First in the category is the Kitchen Wizz Pro (BFP800, RRP $499.95), second is the Ikon Kitchen Wizz (BFP650, RRP $299.95), while the Breville Kitchen Wizz (BFP400, RRP $149.95) is the fourth best performer in the category.

“Kitchen Wizz is a highly respected sub-brand amongst retailers and consumers,” said Breville’s general manager of marketing, Scott Brady. “The Kitchen Wizz Pro offers consumers some truly unique technology and features that make it an invaluable kitchen tool.

“To have all three Kitchen Wizz models rank among the top four best-selling food processors is testimony to the substantial research and thought that takes place before we even start designing an appliance,” he said. “Some competitors have 10 different food processors, we essentially only have three and we’re still number one.”
