Myer has recognised its supply partners at the annual Myer Supplier of the Year Awards, held in Melbourne’s Crown Palladium on Friday night.

De’Longhi picked up the Myer Supplier of the Year 2011 award, as well as the award for Best Hard Goods Supplier (over $15 million). Also in the appliances and electronics field was Ricoh, which picked up a gong for Best Information Technology Supplier on the night.

The awards, which were presented by Myer CEO Bernie Brookes, were given out across a range of categories including apparel, property and design. Other big names to be celebrated on the night were Lego, high-end brands Chanel and Karen Millen, and cosmetics supplier, Mac.

Accepting the two awards on behalf of De’Longhi was national sales manager, Arthur Banbas.

“Not so long ago De’Longhi attended a Myer Presentation with the theme ‘Technology meets Fashion’,” said Banbas. “The idea was to turn a Housewares electrical product such as a kettle or toaster, into a fashion product such as pair of designer label ladies' shoes. With our De’Longhi, Kenwood & Nespresso range of products we were well positioned to achieve this."

Banbas thanked a range of people involved in the success, including head office staff, the De’Longhi merchandise and demonstration team, and Myer sales staff in the stores “who embraced our range of innovative and stylish products."

“You cannot achieve an award such as the two that De’Longhi received without the help of a number of people,” he said.

De’Longhi beat out other nominees including Remington, Samsonite and Southern Australian Wool Products to take the Best Hard Goods Supplier (over $15 million) prize. In order to win, the supplier was judged on delivery performance, in store support, the partnership with Myer and overall financial performance (including sales, profit and total revenue).

The recognition as Supplier of the Year also saw De’Longhi pick up kudos from the head office in Italy, with Fabio DeLonghi saying the Myer award “was very well deserved for one of our top performing international subsidiaries”.

“We are thrilled at this truly amazing result,” added De’Longhi CEO, Paolo Albertini. “It was highly unexpected and we will continue to strive to further build the relationship between Myer and DeLonghi as we see great synergies between the two companies.”
