Samsung Electronics Australia was the victor today in the Federal Court, with the full bench lifting the preliminary injunction preventing sales of the Galaxy Tab 10.1.

This court case came about after Apple brought legal proceedings against Samsung, claiming patent infringement on its iPad products.

Although Samsung won this round, it is still unable to sell the Galaxy Tab 10.1 until at least Friday afternoon, with Apple granted a stay to prepare an appeal.

In a statement released this afternoon, Samsung expressed its satisfaction.

“Samsung Electronics Australia is pleased with today’s unanimous decision by the Federal Court to lift the preliminary injunction on sales of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1,” a spokesperson said.

“We believe the ruling clearly affirms that Apple’s legal claims lack merit.

“We will make an announcement regarding the market availability of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 in Australia shortly.”
