Kambrook has today released a statement confirming it will no longer be distributing the SmartSwitch power saving device.

The SmartSwitch was being supplied to Kambrook by Embertec, an energy efficiency technology company based in South Australia.

“Recently, Embertec achieved Victorian Energy Efficient Target accreditation — a government initiative — which means it is now able to sell SmartSwitch to energy retailers and accredited installers in Victoria,” reads the statement.

“As a result, many consumers will have access to SmartSwitch technology free of charge through offers being made by energy retailers and accredited installers in Victoria.

“While this is a great outcome for Embertec and the adoption of energy efficient technology, it means that it is no longer viable for Kambrook to distribute SmartSwitch through its regular retail channel.”
