Following the release of a raft of tablet devices in 2011, Logitech is capitalising on the boom with a range of accessories designed for the iPad and other tablets.

The line-up – which is designed to “extend the entertainment experience for tablets” – includes a Keyboard Case for iPad 2, a Speaker Stand for iPad, a Wireless Headset, a Wireless Boombox and a Tablet Speaker for iPad.

“Consumers are at the heart of all the tablet and mobile accessories we’re creating,” said Logitech Australia general manager, Annabelle Woods. “We know people love their tablets. One of the things they do most is use them to enjoy entertainment content – whether that’s watching a movie, sharing music, or listening to an audio book on the go.

“Our line-up of accessories has an option for everyone that can make entertainment even more enjoyable,” Woods said.

First in the range is the Logitech Keyboard Case for iPad 2 (RRP $129.95). The device features an aluminium outer casing and is designed to wrap around the iPad to protect the screen. Connecting to the iPad via Bluetooth, the keyboard also features a recess at the back that can be used to prop up the tablet whilst typing.

The Apple-certified Logitech Speaker Stand for iPad “turns the iPad iPad into a hands-free music, movies, and charging station,” and features an adjustable viewing angle and portable form factor. The more compact Tablet Speaker for iPad is designed to fit into the headphone jack of the iPad (or another tablet) and clip on to the device, offering up to 8 hours of battery life before being recharged.

Also in the audio category is the Logitech Wireless Headset, which features a noise-cancelling microphone, six-hour rechargeable battery, and Bluetooth connectivity that allows it to be paired with any Bluetooth device (including the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch).

Finally, Logitech has released a Wireless Boombox – also designed to connect to a tablet or smartphone device via Bluetooth (at a distance of up to 10 metres) with up to six hours of use on the rechargeable battery.
