Optus’ exclusive launch period with the BlackBerry Bold 9900 is over, with Telstra offering the device on its Freedom Connect plans from tomorrow (1 November 2011).

For business customers, Telstra also has a range of Business Maximiser plans for the Bold 9900. Both these plans include BlackBerry’s unlimited email and internet browsing feature, provided users only utilise the BlackBerry browser preinstalled on the handset.

“We’ve received great feedback that consumers and business customers alike are very impressed by the new BlackBerry Bold 9900 and we are excited to offer the device to Telstra customers,” said RIM Australia MD Adele Beachley. “The BlackBerry Bold 9900 features some innovative enhancements, entertainment features and apps which combine with trusted BlackBerry security and best-in-class email to create the perfect smartphone for work and play.”

Telstra Mobile director Tim Webber expressed happiness at being able to offer this device to Next G customers.

Battery life continues to be outstanding and teamed with the Telstra Mobile Network customers can access more than twice the geographic coverage of the next largest 3G network in Australia.”

There has been no announcement regarding the availability of the Torch 9860, released on Optus at the same time as the Bold 9900, on the Telstra network.
