Following on from the Australian launch of the Breville Dual Boiler manual espresso machine in Sydney in May, the company has now released the coffee machine to the American market.

Breville coffee specialist Phil McKnight and principal designer Keith Hensel were in New York to promote the machine to the US media, as well as a range of American baristas and roasters from across the country, including representatives from Intelligentsia Coffee, Toby’s Estate, Counter Culture and Stumptown Coffee Roasters.

At its launch in Australia, the BES900 was the first machine of its kind to use a dual boiler system that allows consumers to brew coffee and steam milk at the same time. Known as the BES900XL in the States (perfect for bigger-is-better America), the machine was showcased with hands-on demonstrations at the New York launch event.

Speaking about the event, and the American reception to the coffee machine, was Phil McKnight.

“The American coffee industry’s interest in the Dual Boiler has been overwhelming,” said McKnight. “Guests from coast to coast attended the New York event and the machine has received some very positive reviews.  The US Breville team is very excited about the buzz the Dual Boiler has created.”

According to Breville, the company has tracked more than 400,000 blog and review reads regarding the machine, some of which are compiled on a central Breville website (along with videos and specifications) for consumers and retailers.

Breville launched the BES900 in Sydney earlier this year.
