Sydney schoolboy Wil Batterham succeeded this morning in his quest to be the world’s first retail iPhone 4S customer.

Looking bleary eyed and sleep deprived shortly before sales started at 8am, Wil was lapping up is 15 minutes of iFame, conducting a radio interview and chatting amiably with passers-by.

The queue behind the Year 10 student at Marist North Sydney had grown measurably over the last 24 hours, snaking around George Street in King Street.
