SYDNEY, NSW: Woolworths Limited has issued a recall for its Abode Multi-Functional Blender, which was sold in Big W stores nationwide.

The “High-torque blender with multiple attachments including juice extractor, cups and re-sealable lids” can be identified by the model number HY-6068A-1, the Keycode 742 6148 and the Australian Product Number (APN) 9 339346 063730. The product was sold at Big W stores between 25 April 2010 and 6 October 2011.

“BIG W is recalling this product due to a potential safety hazard caused by the rubber seal possibly becoming dislodged and caught in the blender blades during use,” said a statement on the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission website.

“If damaged, the rubber seal may possibly mix with food and pose an ingestion hazard”.

Consumers who bought the product are advised to immediately return the product to any Big W store for a full refund.
