SYDNEY, NSW: Acer has today launched the new TravelMate 8481, a 1.5-kilogram notebook with a 14-inch display, designed for those “who spend most of their working life while on the move”.

Speaking about the new launch was Acer Computer Australia’s product specialist for commercial notebook, Daniel Goffredo.

“We've found that mobile users are seeking a notebook with a portable form factor that doesn't hinder their productivity output,” said Goffredo. “Our 14-inch TravelMate 8481 uses a super-slim frameless display that fits into a 13-inch footprint for an almost edge to edge viewing experience.

“The TravelMate 8481 is for those users who are after a high performing notebook that not only increases their business productivity but also offers a battery life that lasts throughout a standard working day,” he said.

The notebook measures 22-millimetres at its thinnest point, and features a second generation Intel Core i5 processor and Intel Wireless Display technology that allows content to be shared from the notebook to an HD display or TV.

The 14-inch LED LCD display offers HD resolution, while the built-in Nvidia GPU is designed to boost graphic performance without affecting battery life. The TravelMate offers up to 9 hours of battery life with an optional 8-cell battery.

The notebook features simultaneous hard disk drive and solid state drive storage capacities – the HDD offers up to 320GB of space, while the SSD has up to 120GB of capacity. In terms of connectivity, the TravelMate offers Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1, USB 3.0 and HDMI out.

The Acer TravelMate 8481 is available from RRP $1,599.
