SYDNEY, NSW: A Woolworths house brand heater sold through Big W stores has been recalled due to its potential fire risk.

The Abode 2000W Oscillating Fan Heater (NFE20O) was on sale from 15 March 2011 through to yesterday (24 May 2011). It was recalled after an assembly fault was detected: wires were at risk of coming into contact with the heating element.

Due to this fault, the fan had the potential to cause smoke, fumes and fire.

Consumers who have purchased this unit are advised to immediately stop using and return it to its place of purchase for a full refund.
