SYDNEY, NSW: Judges from the Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen awards in Germany reviewed 4,433 products submitted from over 60 countries. Bosch claimed two red dot ‘best of the best’, the highest design quality award and a rare distinction offered to only 1.3 per cent of all submissions.

Bosch also received 35 red dots (a seal of quality for product design) and 4 honourable mentions in recognition of what the awards programme describes as “remarkable detailed solutions”.

Most of the models that won are either updated models of products already available in Australia or are proposed for release in the next year to year and a half, according to a BSH spokesperson. This includes the Bosch EcoLogixx 8 iDOS washing machine tipped to arrive in Australia in 2012. The iDOS refers to an intelligent automatic internal detergent dispensing feature, which measures the amount of detergent required for each individual load.
