UnderCurrent: Shane Warne joins VodaFail chorus

UnderCurrent, our new gossipy masthead, was amused today to see Australia's all-time Test leading wicket taker Shane Warne scoring an own goal for Vodafone. Already in the midst of atrocious PR over its poor network coverage and customer standards, Vodafone now has to deal with the headstrong blonde from Mentone, who has clearly forgotten how much the telco supports cricket in Australia and the world.

In a Tweet to his 383,000 loyal followers, Shane Warne wrote: "I have been a loyal customer and worked with Vodafone for a long time... But seriously improve service and network coverage asap or leaving".

Vodafone is an enormous investor in Australian cricket, owning the naming rights, through its 3 brand, to the recent Ashes series. Although Vodafone bought an enormous amount of ad time to promote its services to Australian consumers, local boss Nigel Dews later blamed these new customers for the network not being able to cope with its user's demands.

Father: He'd really need better network coverage, what with all the texting he does. Me: Maybe his texting is causing the bad service quality?

Quade Cooper was also tweeting about how bad his service was with Vodafone until he abandoned them in Janurary. Good on Warney for his tweet.

Hi guys, my student daughter had purchased a 'starter pack' & phone through an Australis Post post office. She was too embarresed to complain out it n e v e r working. I had some spare time = i'll give it a go , well what a fool I was: surly, delaying & uncooperative. I began to think ' the modern world is "crappier' than I first thought & ' is this 'normal' for mobile phone use/custom ? My limited knowledge of Law lead me to assume , no written contract = your stuffed ( not a leg to stand on ) . So I 'sort' of gave up , which is exactly what they(Vodafone) want. By that stage I was 'seething' & apoplectic with rage.,., & therefore illogical.,., & thought :just let it go through to the keeper' the modern of mobile phones has Government condoned robbery ! .,., hell can 'sort' them out. Regards, Michael.
