SYDNEY, NSW: First spied at Sharp’s head office in Osaka, Japan back in September, the first 3D Quattron Aquos has now arrived on Australian shores. The launch model is a 60-inch unit that combines 3D technology with Sharp’s exclusive fourth pixel – yellow – to create a truly unique television.
Another interesting feature of this TV is the ability for users to watch either 2D or 3D at the same time, depending on individual preference. Say a group of people are watching a 3D Blu-ray movie and one person doesn’t want to watch it in 3D for some reason, that user can switch their glasses to 2D, whilst everyone else continues to watch in 3D.
Sharp Australia deputy managing director Denis Kerr said he was looking forward to releasing this new TV.
“We’re excited to combine Quattron with our very first 3D TV experience to deliver a superior 3D offering with the brightest image reproduction on the market,” said Kerr. “Quattron 3D enhances the 3D viewing experience by producing more vivid colours and depth to images.”
The new 3D Quattron is a 60-inch Full HD LED LCD TV with 200Hz AquoMotion scanning system. It is 39.7 millimetres thick, has a 6-star energy rating, 4 HDMI inputs and a USB input. The product code is LC60LE925X and it is RRP $5,999.
