SYDNEY, NSW: St George Appliances is doing a Miele, with distributor Woodland Home Products announcing that it is transitioning to a chartered agency business model. German supplier Miele has led the way with this system of sales, also known as pro forma, in which the supplier retains ownership of all stock and retailers act as removed direct salespeople.
Peter Woodland, the owner of Woodland Home Products, said this change would not affect margins, with current retailer arrangements to remain consistent.
“It will be business as usual for our trusted partners,” Woodland said in a statement. “The move demonstrates initiative in the marketplace and of our ongoing commitment to our partners, customers and the iconic Australian brand St George Appliances.”
Coinciding with this announcement is three new promotions on St George Appliances packages. All three packages include an oven, a cooktop and a rangehood. There’s the Family Favourite pack (RRP $2,597, save $600), the Entertainer (RRP $4,797, save $1,000) and the Self-Made Chef (RRP $8,497, save $1,500).
