SYDNEY, NSW: With footy finals fast approaching the 3D craze continues, with LG entering the expedition with a 2D-3D plasma TV and Panasonic extending the Viera range of 3D TVs.

A 58-inch and a 65-inch screen have been added to the Viera range.

“There is nothing better than watching a sporting match at home and feeling so close to the game that it’s as if you were right there seeing it live – these two new screen sizes make it easy for viewers to feel a part of the action in their very own home,” said Reid, director of consumer electronics, Panasonic Australia.

While some suppliers are bowing out of the plasma category, LG has opted to focus on the advantages plasma screens offer including true blacks, wide viewing angles and high refresh and response times.

Viewers can select either 2D or 3D modes and can transform 2D content into 3D viewing, according to LG.

Key features of include 1920 x 1080-pixel full HD resolution, built-in Wi-Fi, DLNA, HDMI, and NetCast which means consumers can stream BigPond movies, YouTube videos, Picasa photo albums directly from the internet without the need for extra hardware.
