SYDNEY, NSW: Breville has this morning announced the ordination of a new in-house Coffee Guru and Beverage Specialist. The new Bishop of the Bean, Deacon of the Dose and Pontiff of the Pour is Sydney cafe owner Phil McKnight.

McKnight currently owns Swerve, a popular cafe in Australia’s 4-wheel drive capital, Mosman. His responsibilities at Breville will include product development, retailer and internal training, and taste profiling.

Discussing this appointment is Breville brand director David Gubbin.

“We’re very excited to have someone of Phil’s level of expertise join us at Breville,” said Gubbin.

“With consumers becoming more discerning about their home espresso experience, his insights into the professional world of coffee will be invaluable to our team internally as well as our retailers.”
