SYDNEY, NSW: Harvey Norman has today confirmed the locations of six new stores set to be opened during the 2011 Financial Year. Furthermore, chairman Gerry Harvey has revealed which Clive Peeters stores will be rebranded.
In total, three Clive Peeters stores will undergo a rebranding process. The Mt Druitt and Maryborough stores in New South Wales will be converted to Harvey Norman stores, whilst the soon-to-be former Clive Peeters store in Bundaberg, Queensland, will become a Joyce Mayne outlet.
Harvey said this would contribute to Harvey Norman’s overall multibrand strategy for each State of Australia. Harvey Norman also operates under the Domayne brand name.
“We believe we can significantly grow revenue from these complexes, by utilising the skill sets of each of Harvey Norman and Clive Peeters,” said Harvey.
“Clive Peeters and Rick Hart are extremely strong in whitegoods and cooking, but weaker in the Audio Visual and IT categories, while Harvey Norman specialises in AV [and] IT and is a leader in bringing new technologies, such as 3D, to market.”
In addition to these store conversion, there will be six new Harvey Norman stores opening during the 2011 Financial Year. Two of these stores will be in New South Wales (Ballina and Narrabri), two will be in Victoria (Benalla and Morwell), one will be in Queensland (Ipswich) and one will be in Slovenia (Novo Mesto).
