SYDNEY, NSW: Australian owned and operated Laser Corporation today released the EB101 multimedia e-book reader at a competitive price point set to rattle Amazon’s Kindle.

The EB101 is the first reader for Laser, who specialise in IT and consumer electronics accessories. It features MP4 capabilities, allowing users to store and view photos, watch video and movies in full colour, as well as listening to music – while reading on the 5-inch screen.

The device includes 2GB of memory and allows for 16GB with Micro SD memory card expansion. Readers can also select text size and orientation of the screen.

EB101 e-book files and content can also be shared with friends.

Chris Lau, managing director of Laser, said, “Users can store a wide selection of novels on the EB101 which weighs no more than 300gms in total, also making it a great travelling companion.”

“It is like having a large MP4 player – you can comfortably read books, watch video in full colour and listen to music, along with sharing content with friends. The EB101 is truly multi-use multimedia device.”

Unlike the Kindle, the EB101 reader is available through a dozen different mortar and bricks retailers for RRP $149.
