SYDNEY, NSW: LG has released a 3D Blu-ray disc player to enhance the illusion of depth and perception in Blu-ray format, ideally through LG 3D TVs.

The player has been earmarked for use in conjunction with the LX9500, LG's flagship 3D TV. The Blu-ray player’s full HD 1080-pixel resolution also delivers images effective in 2D and with DVD.

The disc player supports 2D or 3D playback and includes the latest HDMI 1.4, with inbuilt Wi-Fi and NetCast functions, meaning users can stream content direct to TV.

Websites such as YouTube, Picasa, Accuweather for world-wide weather and Gracenote services for music information can be accessed and it comes equipped with embedded access to BigPond Movies.

It allows viewers to tap into their own digital media libraries on PCs and other devices, for a fully integrated home entertainment experience.

The LG BX580 is available for $RRP $379.
