SYDNEY, NSW: BSR Group has awarded a Northern Territory store as the big winner in the Large Branded Retailer of the Year Category last night in Shanghai.

The Oasis Betta Electrical in Palmerston has won a free trip to the 2011 BSR Group conference for an outstanding performance for stores over 650 square meters.

Retailer performance categories were otherwise dominated by New South Wales with the finance award going to Betta Electrical Home Living in Rutherford and the rental award to Betta Electrical Kempsey.

Meanwhile, Electrolux has been named as Supplier of the Year for the second consecutive year.

Other suppliers recognised by the national franchisor group included Panasonic for the audio visual category, LG for whitegoods and Sunbeam for portable appliances.

BSR Group general manager, Ian Brown, said winners had delivered outstanding results to the group and to their customers.

“BSR is delighted to recognise the exceptional effort of its retailers and suppliers and their contribution to the Group’s success over the past year,” Brown said.

“Our retailers have performed very admirably in difficult economic conditions and set an excellent platform for the next financial year.”

The annual conference hosted a record 260 delegates and has been dubbed ‘Better Partnerships’ in recognition of five new retail partners to the Group, as well as the importance of good relationships to the groups success in the last year, as reported in Current.com.au earlier this week.

Nurturing partnerships has been credited for the Group’s positive growth.

“The strength of partnerships between the Group, its retailers and its suppliers has been the key element sustaining BSR through the recent economic turmoil,” Brown said.
