SYDNEY, NSW: Blanco is currently awash with pearls, as the German major appliance company is celebrating the 30th anniversary of selling stainless steel appliances in Australia.

As the pearl is the traditional gift for 30th anniversaries, it’s only appropriate that the two main colours of pearls: black and white, are playing such a part in this celebration. Firstly, Blanco means ‘white’ in English and, secondly, black glass is the latest innovation from the premium kitchen brand.

In an effort to live up to its new brand message, “Not just beautiful, smart”, Blanco is releasing a whole new range of major kitchen appliances in 2010. In addition to this year being Blanco’s 30th birthday in Australia, 2010 also marks 85 years of delivering European kitchen solutions to the world.

Blanco’s new Contemporary Built-in Oven (OE608TX, RRP $1,599) combines black glass with a stainless steel trim. This oven has an intelligent touch Red LED display control programmer, catalytic liners and increased capacity of 60 litres. Additional shelf positions have been added for extra convenience, whilst the oven door has three layers of glass for safety.

Also new to the range is the Induction Cooktop with Maxi Zone (CI603M, RRP $2,799). This model features intelligent touch control, six inductors and can operate from between 50 watts up to 3,600 watts.

To promote both Blanco’s anniversary and its new range, McKenna has announced a new marketing campaign to communicate the Blanco message.

“To celebrate the historic 30th anniversary milestone and support the new product launch and positioning, Blanco are investing heavily in the brands largest ever national print advertising campaign, across the second half of this year,” said Blanco national marketing manager Gavan McKenna.

“The campaign is focused on promoting the beautiful and smart innovations that Blanco are bringing to market in the induction, pyrolytic, sinks and freestanding categories, as well as celebrating the German brand’s heritage in quality kitchen technology solutions.”
