SYDNEY, NSW: Panasonic will use this week’s PMA Digital Life Expo in Melbourne to preview its brand new micro four thirds lens for the first time in Australia.

According to the company, the Lumix G Fisheye 8-millimetre / F3.5 is part of its new G Micro System lineup and is the world’s smallest and lightest digital interchangeable fisheye lens, offering a 180-degree diagonal angle of view.

Made up of ten lenses in nine groups, the G Micro System is designed to be as compact as possible, using the micro four thirds system to achieve size reduction.

The Lumix G Fisheye 8-millimitre / F3.5 incorporates also has an inner focus system, with the closest focusing distance is as short as 0.1-metre, said Panasonic.

While pricing is yet to be announced, the lens will be available in Australia in August and will be displayed at PMA on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 June.
