SYDNEY, NSW: At the same time that it announced a recall of six refrigerators, LG Australia has also voluntarily recalled three portable DVD players from its range.

The three LG portable DVD players being recalled are: DP392G, DP351G and DP450G. An LG spokesperson told Current.com.au that it had sold 27,000 units prior to this recall.

“LG discovered that there is a risk that the universal power adapter may detach from the plug pins where excessive force has been applied, potentially causing a minor electric shock,” reported LG in a statement.

The DVD players had been on sale since 2007. LG said they have now been removed from sale.

LG is offering affected consumers a replacement power adaptor. Consumers are advised to contact LG on 1800 506 154 or at www.lgresponds.com.au.
