Man charged over theft of $150,000 worth of fridges

SYDNEY, NSW: New South Wales Police have arrested and charged a man after the theft of more than $150,000 worth of refrigerators. The man, who faced court yesterday, is alleged to have stolen the fridges from trailers between 27 February and 1 March 2010.

In a statement issued to the media yesterday evening, a New South Wales Police spokesperson said the man had been charged with four criminal offences.

“Property Crime Squad detectives have charged a man who will face court...following the alleged theft of $150,000 worth of fridges.

“The 34-year-old man was charged with two counts of receiving and two counts of recklessly deal with the proceeds of crime.

“The charges relate to investigations into the theft of two fully laden trailers from Prestons between 27 February and 1 March this year.”

The Police further reported that bail has been refused and that investigations are continuing.
