Marketing and sales reshuffle at Panasonic

By Grant Shepherd

SYDNEY, NSW: Panasonic Australia has just announced two major appointments to its marketing and sales team. These appointments will be effective as of 1 April 2010.

Richard Tassone has been appointed to the newly created role of general manager, marketing, consumer electronics group. Paul Reid, director, consumer electronics group, discussed why the company created this role.

“We have created this new position within the group to provide strategic leadership to our product marketing team across all our CE product categories - including Viera, Blu-ray, Home Theatre, Lumix, Air Conditioning and Home Appliances,” he said.

“Richard was previously our national channel sales manager, and his market knowledge and experience will ensure excellent support, with a strong customer focus and understanding.”

Grant Sforcina will now take on this role as national channel sales manager. He will work with Steve Sutherland, national sales operations manager, to develop and implement sales strategy for Panasonic’s consumer electronics group business nationally.

“Grant has been with Panasonic for around 15 years and is well-respected in his role of state sales manager, South Australia.  We look forward to him joining the Head Office team,” said Reid.
