Sharp expands presence in LED TV market

SYDNEY, NSW: Sharp Australia announced this morning that it will expand its current AQUOS LED backlit LED TV range with an addition of three new models. One will include an integrated Blu-ray player.

According to Sharp, the LE700X range will now include 46- and 52-inch models and the LB700X range has added a 46-inch model with integrated Blu-ray player.

All of Sharp’s new LED panels are being promoted as highly energy efficient, especially when compared to traditional LCD TVs. Sharp said that the new 46-inch model will deliver greater energy savings with a low power consumption of 139 watts. The 46-inch panel has a six-star energy rating and the 52-inch has a seven-star rating.

Sharp’s AQUOS LED System, is the company’s latest technological advancement. The integration of an X-Gen Panel, advanced pixel control and Ultra Brilliant LEDs creates what Sharp is calling ‘crystal clear images and a superior level of picture quality’.

Other features include a dynamic contrast ratio of 2,000,000:1, Advanced Pixel control, 1080/24P signal input and Fine Motion Advanced Technology for an 100/120Hz frame rate conversion and 4ms response time.

The LB700X also includes an integrated Blu-ray player featuring BD LIVE capabilities, and Ethernet network connector and a USB terminal for added local storage.

All models in the new AQUOS range feature HDMI x 3, AV-In x 2, Component x 2, S-Video In, PC In as well as AV, Optical Audio and headphone out terminals.

The recommended retail price for Sharp’s range of AQUOS LED backlit LCD TVs are as follows:

LC-40LE700X - RRP: $2,299
LC-40LB700X - RRP: $2,599
LC-46LE700X - RRP: $2,599
LC-46LB700X - RRP: $2,899
LC-52LE700X - RRP: $3,899
