SYDNEY: A woman has attempted to defraud her employer, a major phone company, of 1,000 Apple iPhones. She has also been charged after fraudulently obtaining 182 mobile handsets, including models from Apple, Blackberry and Nokia.

According to the media release issued by NSW Police, the 25-year-old woman was questioned at Blacktown Police Station on Friday 29 January, relating to an attempt to fraudulently obtain 1,000 Apple iPhones from her employer, a major phone company.

The woman was also questioned in relation to  fraudulently obtaining 182 mobile phones on Wednesday 27 January 2010. These items included 13 Blackberry 9500 phones, 11 Blackberry 9700 phones, 31 Nokia N97 phones and 131 Apple iPhones.

The woman was charged with obtain benefit by deception for the sum of $200,000 and granted conditional bail to appear at Blacktown Local Court on 25 February 2010.
