SYDNEY, NSW: Samsung Australia has announced the appointment of two recruits in newly created positions.
Formerly with Hitachi air conditioning, Gary Sparkes has joined Samsung as the new business unit manager – air conditioning. Sparkes was the national sales and marketing manager at Hitachi and has run his own air conditioning business.
The new head of national accounts for the retail sales division is Shaun Penrose. Samsung reported Penrose has over 20 years experience in account management within the home appliance industry.
Speaking about these appointments is Samsung retail sales and marketing director Michael Richardson.
“Despite turbulent economic conditions, the business has continued to grow substantially in Australia. We have created these two new roles to support this growth and plan to further increase the business’ local workforce by 33% this year.
“Both Gary and Shaun bring a wealth of experience to the team and we’re looking forward to having them on board to support and build on our business success into 2010 and beyond.”
