SYDNEY, NSW: A leaf blower sold at Bunnings stores has been recalled due to it presenting a fire hazard from a leaking fuel tank.
The Techtronic Industries Homelite Mighty Lite Back Pack Blower (HBL26BPN) has been on sale nationally since August 2007 in Bunnings stores. According to the recall notice, the blower is a potential fire hazard due to leaking fuel.
“As a result of a small crack that can develop in the fuel tank's centre recessed pocket, where a screw is inserted to attach the tank to the centre mounting bracket on the back pack blower, it is possible that fuel in the tank may leak onto the body or clothing of an operator of the product, or leak onto the floor in the area where the product is stored,” the recall notice reported.
Consumers are advised to stop using the product immediately and to return it to Techtronic Industries for a full refund. Consumers can call 1300 361 505 for more information.
