Who wants to be a millionaire? Fujitsu General changes one Aussie's life

By Martin Vedris

SYDNEY, NSW: Ray Charles might be a famous singer but he’s not to be confused with Roy Charles who is the winner of the Fujitsu Free Money and $1 Million Dollar Pay Day promotion.

Charles couldn’t hide his joy when presented with the $1 million cheque.

“All I can say is that miracles do happen,” he said. “I am so incredibly grateful for this extremely generous prize from Fujitsu General. This win means so much to me and my family.”

Charles was presented with his cheque on Remembrance Day by Shuichi Takada, Managing Director, Fujitsu General (Aust.) Pty Limited, and Mark Taylor, Fujitsu General brand ambassador.

“We are delighted to present this significant sum of money to such a worthy recipient,” said Shuichi Takada.

“Roy has been through some tough challenges in his life and we hope that his win contributes to some happier times ahead.

“This promotion has certainly been our most successful to date and today’s presentation provided the perfect high note to finish on.”

The Fujitsu Free Money and $1 Million Dollar Pay Day promotion ran from 1 April until 31 August, 2009. During this time, customers purchasing an inverter split system, inverter multi or inverter ducted air conditioner had the opportunity to receive up to $400 on a Fujitsu pre-paid Visa card and enter into the draw to win the $1 million prize.
