SYDNEY, NSW: PC Tools, an Australian-based, global IT security company today released its 2010 suits of internet security products. The supplier also announced it is now available at the retail level, with Dick Smith and Big W now stocking the products.

There are three products in the new 2010 range: Spyware Doctor (RRP $49.95), Spyware Doctor with AntiVirus (RRP $59.95) and Internet Security (RRP $79.95). All three products are compatible with Windows 7.

The top-of-the-range Internet Security 2010 features a diverse range of technologies to detect, block and remove threats attempting to compromise PCs. New additions to the 2010 model include ThreatFire Behavioural Intelligence, multi-layered browsing protection, Browser Guard and Browser Defender.

PC Tools promotes itself as being at the forefront of internet security for high-intensity PC users, with gamers specifically targeted by general manager Tom Powledge at the launch today. He said that PC Tools security software can protect gamers from organised attacks aimed at stealing identities and moneys from gamers. In addition, the products feature gaming-specific settings, so that the programs will not interrupt or interfere with gamers while they are playing.

Less well known than its rivals, including Norton, AVG and Trend Micro, PC Tools is based in North Sydney and employees over 150 staff. It has regional offices in San Francisco, London, Ireland, Melbourne, Kiev and Boulder.

Previously available primarily through online mediums, PC Tools has now widened its distribution, and is now available through the retail channel, with Dick Smith and Big W stocking the new releases.
