SYDNEY, NSW: Sony Australia today announced the return of its uber-successful free PlayStation 3 promotion with purchases of selected Bravia LCD TVs.

A similar promotion last year, just before the Beijing Olympics, was incredibly successful, overshadowing the promotional efforts of its TV rivals.

In a release to media this morning, Sony Australia said it would commence its giveaway tomorrow (Thursday 22 October 2009), with 25,000 PS3 Slims to be awarded to consumers, via redemption, with the purchase of Bravias retailing for between RRP $2,199 and RRP $8,499. This promotion will run concurrently with Sony’s 3-year warranty offer across its Bravia range.

In a further nod to the consumers this Yuletide, Sony Australia has issued a guarantee that if they qualify for one of the 25,000 free PlayStation 3s, it will have the gaming console shipped out to the customer before Christmas Day.

Talking about this is Sony Australia deputy general manager of consumer products marketing, Toby Barbour.

“Entering the Christmas period after a year of financial pressure, now more than ever consumers are looking for quality purchases that deliver value for money,” Barbour said.

“With a Bravia LCD TV, not only are you buying unparalleled manufacturing quality, but you also now have the confidence of knowing your investment is supported by our extended 3-year warranty promotion.

“Our Bravia LCD TV, PS3 and extended warranty combination is undoubtedly the best offer we have ever had in the market.”
