SYDNEY: NSW Police are currently appealing for information after a large scale break and enter occurred at a warehouse in Smithfield resulting in over $1 million worth of stolen electronics equipment.

The Police report outlines that the robbery occurred at 5:20pm on Friday 17 July, when five men wearing balaclavas and gloves cut a hole in the rear security fence of a warehouse on Britton Street, Smithfield.

Police believe entry was gained to the premises via a rear roller door before the men left a short time later.

At about 12:20pm that night the men returned to the location in an old model white Pantech truck and entered the premise via the same rear door. The men then allegedly stole a number of pallets of electronic goods leaving in the truck.

On Saturday 18 July at approximately 7:20pm, five men returned to the warehouse with a truck where forklifts were used to lift numerous pallets into the truck. The truck was reported to leave at 11:15pm.

According to the police numerous digital cameras, digital projectors, coffee machines and flat screen TVs were stoles with a potential street value of over $1 million.

The police are currently looking for the white Hino truck and they believe it has a broken rear indicator light.

Forensic investigators conducted investigations of the scene and are still continuing.

The police are warning the public to be wary of anyone trying to sell cheap electronic goods or electronic goods in bulk and should report any suspicious behaviour to their local police department.
