SYDNEY: To promote its new technologies, including the new LH50 200 Hz LCD TV, LG Electronics launched an online game in conjunction with the Transformers 2 movie and it has attracted over a million players so far.

LG has timed campaign with the launch of the movie in LG’s key Asian markets of Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand.

LG Australia is calling this promotion “its first advergame” to promote the LG products. This “advergame” is called Autobot Stronghold  and it requires players to coordinate the defence of the LG base from the Decepticons, the movie's bad guys.

The Autobot Stronghold campaign will run for two months and LG is giving away prizes to players that register the highest scores. Autobot Stronghold can be played at http://www.lge.com.au/games/autobotstronghold
