New appointment at LG Commercial Air Conditioning

By Grant Shepherd

SYDNEY: In efforts to reinvigorate its commercial air conditioning category and drive an increase in commercial sales, LG Electronics Australia has just announced the appointment of a new general manager.

Ian Robertson has now joined the team as general manger, Commercial Air Conditioning Australia, after working in sales and marketing roles for over 25 years at Daikin in Sydney, Osaka, Singapore and his most recent role was in New York as director of business development.

“Joining LG’s Commercial Air Conditioning Company is an exciting step for me. With many years of experience at Daikin I am eager to bring my extensive knowledge to a whole new environment and brand,” Robertson said.

In his new role Robertson will oversee all areas of air conditioning outside of the retail space and will co-ordinate the restructuring and expansion of LG’s current commercial air conditioning sales division.

“When LG announced that Commercial Air Conditioning was becoming a separate division globally, independent of consumer electronics, I could see a great opportunity to re-structure and expand LG sales in Australia to specialist dealers and commercial contractors,” he said.

“I look forward to working closely with our specialist dealers, commercial contractors and consulting engineering partners, to ever increasing levels of customer service and value.”

LG’s managing director, Soon Kwon, was confident Robertson will help the company grow in the future.

“Ian Robertson is a key step in strengthening our position in the Commercial Air Conditioning category with his wealth of specialist knowledge and experience in this area,” he said.
