SYDNEY: With their new partnership to distribute digital radios in place, Pioneer and Pure have been in talks with a number of retailers to stock its new range of products. Amongst those already on board are Harvey Norman, Good Guys and Clive Peeters.

As revealed on Current.com.au this morning, Pioneer and Pure Australasia have formed a partnership to supply digital radios. With digital radio switching on in capital cities today, both parties are keen to get stock into stores.

“We are already selling in Len Wallis, and we will soon be selling in Harvey Norman, the Good Guys, Clive Peeters and Myer,” said Pure Australasia managing director Graeme Redman.

Redman further reported that Pure and Pioneer were in discussions with WOW Sight & Sound, JB Hi-Fi and David Jones. Although he didn’t want to give too many details away, Redman said he was confident that in time all of these stores would stock the Pure range.

Two of these stores, JB Hi-Fi and David Jones, are members of Narta, though Redman explained that due to Pure not having a broad range of product lines, he was dealing with the retailers directly.

As for Retravision, which is closely associated with rural and regional Australia – areas notorious for having bad radio reception – Redman was less certain.

“Retravision is interesting, it’s hard to know what will happen, but we’re not in them at the moment,” he said.

“There’s a wait and see attitude amongst some retailers, but in general, all the mass merchants are either on board or we’re in discussions.”
